A business student was found dead in his East London flat last week after working until 6am three days in a row.
Moritz Erhardt, 21, who was interning at Bank of America’s Merrill Lynch offices in London, was found unconscious in the shower of his hostel after pulling three all-nighter in a row. A witness claimed to know that Erhardt was constantly working overtime.
What makes his death even more tragic was that he was only a week away from completing a seven-week internship. He had suffered an apparent seizure and was pronounced dead on the spot.
The young German student studied at WHU-Otto Beisheim School Management and was an exchange student at University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. He also interned at Morgan Stanley, Corporate Global Investment Banking at Deutsche Bank previously.
John McIvor, spokesman of Bank of America mourned the loss of a “highly diligent intern” who had “a promising future”. Plenty of Erhardt’s fellow interns said that he was “one of the best interns at BAML”.
