We often (or maybe, always) change our looks, including by buying an extremely overpriced garment or incorporating new products into our makeup routine just because celebrities do so, and we think, “Wow, I need to look just that gorgeous too.” If this sounds like you, then you might be an impulsive self-pamperer (yeah, we totally didn’t make that up). And you might also be one of those that has spontaneously gotten a septum piercing or gone full-on blonde, which probably made you the “wild” one among your friends. So, let me, the “wild” one among my friends too, help you figure out how you can maintain and keep that bleached hair as healthy as it was before.
Ps – You don’t have to be “wild” to go blonde, everyone rocks it just as much 😉
1. Washing your hair a little less
We all know washing our hair can lift our mood because its so therapeutic. But, it is no secret that shampoo can often overstrip your hair’s natural oils, and since our bleached hair is already especially dry, washing it with shampoo can result in a brittle texture and split ends. So, if you have bleached hair, you might want to consider washing your hair about 3 times a week or less.
2. Using the right shampoo
No one’s lying when they say that using the right shampoo for your bleached hair is extremely important. Ever since my first bleach session back in March, I have been continuously using Opaplex’s no. 4 Bond maintenance shampoo because investing in the shampoo to maintain my beautiful blonde color definitely paid off.

3. Using intensive treatment
It is not always our first option to go to a salon and get our hair the treatment it deserves because, 1) we are living in a global pandemic, and 2) who’s got so much money to spare? Hair treatments at home can be just as effective, allowing you to maintain that gorgeous blonde and prevent any more damage that might lead to further problems. Thus, let me introduce to you – L’Oreal Paris Elvive Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm Rinse-Out Mask. Formulated with caring ingredients, featuring almond oil and 17% repair concentrate with protein? Wow, this is an absolute must-have.

4. Opt for oil
Using hair oils as both a pre and post-shower treatment can help you hydrate and protect roughed-up cuticles from the bleaching process. A nourishing hair oil will also make your hair shine and keep frizz under control, so you are really missing out if you haven’t gotten your hands on a good hair oil to keep your bleached hair healthy. And personally, I have been super loving Tsubaki Shiseido Hair Oil.
