Our skin – the body’s largest organ – acts as the first line of defence against the outside world, so keeping it at its healthiest state is of utmost importance. But the skin doesn’t do this alone – it is covered by a complex community of trillions of friendly bacteria, fungi and other microbes that form the microbiome, each one as unique as our thumbprints.
With this in mind, the STRIP: Ministry of Waxing, has introduced its very own skincare line to cater to our microbiomes.
TWO L(I)PS’ latest prebiotic range is specifically formulated to sit between the pH levels of 4 and 6, which is the optimal range needed for microbes on the skin of the vulva and face to thrive.
The proprietary prebiotic complex found in the range feeds the microbiome the essential ‘food’ it needs to help good bacteria thrive, supporting healthy barrier function and keeping the skin at its healthiest state.
Not only does this microbiome play a pivotal role in determining how efficiently our skin absorbs products, but it is also responsible for determining its overall health.
In the age of over-cleansing and sanitising, our microbiome is often disrupted and thrown off balance as
essential bacteria get stripped away.
The queen of Vulva, Cynthia Chua, founder of TWO L(I)PS said;
“When I designed the prebiotic range, I wanted to create bioavailable products with the health of the
skin’s delicate microbiome in mind. My aim was to come up with a range of products suitable for the vulva and face, one that would restore and rebalance all skin (types) to their healthiest state.”
When this happens, the skin barrier weakens, becoming more susceptible to environmental stressors which can lead to a host of skin issues, while accelerating skin ageing.
The range consists of five essential products, starting with a cleanser and ending with sunscreen. Formulated without sulphates and parabens, they are dermatologically and gynaecologically tested.
