Yes, you read that right. If you are a diehard fan of the 90s’ hit sitcom and most popular series ever, ‘Friends’, you now have a chance to crash Rachel’s and Monica’s apartment for one night. Feels like a dream come true? Wait, there’s more.
The iconic house being the heart of the series can now be your experience of a lifetime. Calling it “The Friends Experience”, a two-story immersive celebration of the show was launched in March and have partnered up with Booking.com to provide “The Ultimate Sleepover” in which you’ll find an 18-room exhibit full of props from the apartment and many other classic scenes recreated from the series.
While we know that the sitcom interiors were filmed in an LA studio, the exterior however is a real-life existing building, 130 East 23rd Street, which is now the home of “The Friends Experience.” All the while, fans would gather up at the location and reminisce the building being the ‘actual’ house of Rachel and Monica’s. Now fans have a chance to actually be inside the building, with the actual set-up.
“With re-creations of the beloved television series’ set — guests will relive Ross’ infamously doomed sofa pivot, peek through Rachel and Monica’s purple door, relax on Chandler and Joey’s recliners after playing some foosball, explore newly added original props and costumes from the show and much more,” Booking.com said in the announcement. “It will leave guests gasping: OH. MY. GAWD!”
According to Booking.com, fans will be treated to a special tour as well as dinner and drinks during their stay. They can also channel Monica’s competitive spirit in a late-night game of Phoebe’s Cab Escape Room and a “Friends”-themed scavenger hunt.
In the morning, they will be greeted with their shot of caffeine and pastries at the functioning Central Perk coffee shop. Because, what’s ‘Friends’ without Central Perk, right?
The big question in everyone’s mind, how much would this nostalgic stay cost? If you think it might burn a hole in your pocket, you’re absolutely incorrect. Surprisingly, for an overnight stay for two, and dream come true is only just $19.94, a nod to the year the show first aired.
But you have to be quick to book this place. Booking.com will be opening reservations on May 21 at 10a.m ET. The place will be available for 2 nights only, on May 23 and May 24.
Sadly for fans outside the US, due to the pandemic and on-going travel restrictions, you might have to give this once in a lifetime experience a miss. To bring some cheer, you can still enjoy ‘Friends’ on Netflix anytime you want!
