Many of us have fond memories ice skating at indoor skating rinks whilst growing up, and should you also enjoy swerving through ice, you would be delighted to know that a brand new Olympic-sized ice skating rink just opened up at Empire City mall, Selangor. Yeap, consider your weekend activity sorted!
Known as Malaysia National Ice Skating Stadium or MYNISS, the stadium was utilised to host inaugural winter sports for the 2017 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, and measuring 30m x 60m, it marks the first Olympic-regulated ice rink in the country built off of international standards.
The Olympic-sized skating rink is able to seat 600 and has a standing room of up to 5,000 spectators, while facilities include showers, lockers available for rental and a fully functional ice skating academy offering private lessons (one student), semi-private lessons (two to three students) and group lessons (four to 10 students).
As of now, ice skating sessions at MYNISS are priced as follows – RM20 per entry on weekdays, RM25 on weekends, and RM30 on public/school holidays. Gloves and socks are also available at the location. Access www.facebook.com/MYNISS.EmpireCity/ for more details.
