The Czech Republic in Central Europe isn’t just known for its medieval architecture, abundant traditions and affluent history, and ornate castles. The fascinating landlocked nation also prides itself on its vibrant food scene, most notable for rich and diverse flavours demonstrated through hearty yet ultra comforting delights.
With that said, The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur will be resuming its highly acclaimed Guest Chef Dinner Series at The Library with a not-to-be-missed Czech culinary experience in partnership with the Embassy of the Czech Republic and award-winning Czech Guest Chef Pavel Sapik.
The beginnings of Chef Pavel’s profession may be deemed a multi-generational family legacy ongoing since the 17th century, but his illustrious career now spanning 29 years comprises unparalleled experiences in the kitchen attained from around the globe, numerous accolades, and presently, as the Executive Chef at The Terrace at the Golden Well.
The exclusive three-day affair will see Chef Pavel present the flavours of Czech cuisine via a degustation menu showcasing an amuse-bouche of smoked trout mousse with beetroot slices; traditional homemade bread and salted butter; followed by veal tartare with goat cheese, dried tomatoes and glassy egg yolk.
Later, indulge in the Bohemian kulajda (soup) with creamy potatoes, fresh forest mushrooms, and poached egg; duck confit served with Carlsbad dumpling, sliced duck breast sous-vide and red cabbage; then finish off with a decadent dessert of Old Prague’s pear dumplings with marzipan, breadcrumbs and nutty butter.
