Finally, the much anticipated multi-flex transportation model in Malaysia is now complete, thanks to the arrival of on-demand car sharing platform: SOCAR, which came all the way from South Korea to help bridge the gap in our existing transport system.

As we all know, increasing traffic woes have made many urban dwellers in Kuala Lumpur switch over to public transport services such as the MRT and LRT for their daily commute.

However, that could be a little troublesome as commuters often face a restriction when it comes to finishing the last leg of their journey; be it rapidly changing destinations, making multiple stops or travelling to remote locations within or outside the city.

This has prevented many Malaysians from giving up their car ownership.

With SOCAR, thankfully, KL-ites can now have full flexibility of choosing their desired mode of transport to achieve their individual needs when they want it, where they want it.

Besides, people can now enjoy the benefits of owning a car without the pressing financial burden of a car loan.

Complementing the modern Malaysian lifestyle, the smartphone app allows users to book their car of choice with just a few taps on the smartphone. Users of the app have the flexibility to book a car for anything between 30 mins up to a week, with prices ranging from RM8 – RM25 per hour.

At present, SOCAR has the largest fleet of car-sharing vehicles of 240 cars that are fully insured and have extensive reserved parking spaces to make it easier for members to pick-up and drop off these shared vehicles. Their fleet includes everyday vehicles such as the Perodua Axia, Honda City and Honda HRV, as well as Mini Coopers which are strategically positioned in over 100 locations across the city.

P/S: SOCAR has launched their Stress Free Pass today, where members can choose to book a car after busy working hours and return it back the next day, making it the perfect transportation option for office goers. Price starts from RM28 per hour.
