The minimalist Muji lifestyle is a much sought after one and has been widely endorsed for its mental health benefits, but supposing you aren’t ready to declutter your life to live with only the necessities, perhaps spending a night or two in a Muji Hotel will offer a little bit of a teaser into living with less.
It’s been seven months since we’ve written about the Muji Hotel that is slated to open its doors in Ginza, Tokyo by spring 2019, and while that’s taking a while in the pipeline, the Japanese lifestyle brand has announced the opening of not one but two Muji Hotels in China – one in Beijing and another in Shenzhen!
The good news doesn’t end there as the Muji Hotel in Shenzhen just opened for business on January 18 and yeap, you can now make reservations on its official website. Equipped with Muji furnishings, all 79 bedrooms are adorned with wooden floors, grey walls and wood-panel embellishments.
Muji has described the concept as “anti-gorgeous, anti-cheap” and you can bet that every single nook and cranny within the hotel has been well thought out to reflect Muji’s minimalist philosophy. Bedrooms aside, the Muji Hotel in Shenzhen has a gym, a 24-hour library and a Muji Diner which incorporates locally sourced ingredients.
The prices range from $145 to $385 per night, and you can also buy more Muji products to make your stay more comfortable, all available at the Muji store that is in the building. We don’t know about you, but the photos are really calling out to us! Alternatively, check out these tiny Muji huts in Japan.
