Alcohol Will Be Gone In A Decade (Or Two), Because Millennials

Many of us know all too well the consequences associated with a big night of drinking –the headache, dry mouth, uneasy stomach and general feeling of self-pity.

In other words: No one looks forward to a hangover. In fact, people will try pretty much anything (except not ordering that extra round of shots) to avoid one.

Fortunately, we have good news for alcoholics!

Navigating your way through the list of miracle hangover cures may soon be a thing of the past, with the invention of a new synthetic alcohol that eliminates the risk of a hangover all together: Alcosynth, a healthy alternative to regular booze with less calories and zero hangover side effects.

You can thank Professor David Nutt for that.

The prof –who was sacked from his position as chairman of the UK government’s Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs in 2009 after he implied that taking ecstasy was less dangerous than riding a horse– believes that an alcohol-free world is well underway as well.

“In another 10 or 20 years, Western societies won’t drink alcohol except on rare occasions,” Nutt told the press. “Alcosynth will become the preferred drink, in the same way that I can see—almost within a decade now in the Western world—tobacco and cigarettes will disappear as they’re replaced by electronic cigarettes.”

Professor Nutt hopes that his invention will be able to replace all regular alcohol by 2050. “It will be there alongside the scotch and the gin, they’ll dispense the Alcosynth into your cocktail and then you’ll have the pleasure without damaging your liver and your heart.”

Absolut

A world without innovative cocktail bars, scotch and boxes of Fireball? Interesting. Looks like hangover-free cocktails may soon be a reality, but how sure are we that there won’t be other damaging side effects later on? Let’s discuss.
