Chester Bennington was finally laid to rest on Saturday at the South Coast Botanic Garden in Rancho Palos Verdes, California and his family, friends, the rest of Linkin Park and other musicians gathered to pay their last respects to the powerful vocalist who took his own life last week.
Amongst the other artistes and Bennington’s music industry colleagues present at the funeral include Justine Carlile of Of Mice and Men, who posted a photo on Instagram of the funeral passes that were made to look like VIP passes, members of Dead by Sunrise, Julien-K and Blackbear.
A few hundred people also attended the service, which showcased a full stage, plus a drum kit for musical tributes. A few days ago, Chester’s widow wife Talinda Bennington also broke her silence on his death:
“One week ago, I lost my soul mate and my children lost their hero—their Daddy. We had a fairytale life and now it has turned into some sick Shakespearean tragedy. How do I move on? How do I pick up my shattered soul? The only answer I know is to raise our babies with every ounce of love I have left.”
“I want to let my community and the fans worldwide know that we feel your love. We feel your loss as well,” she said. “My babies are so young to have lost their daddy. And I know that all of you will help keep his memory alive.”
