Are you over bubbles? Fed up of fizz? Or is your bathtub just not sassy enough? If you’ve ever wished to elevate your bath time experience, then your wish is Lush’s command as the cosmetic brand has just released a new series of bath bombs that takes the meaning of innovation to the next level.
When it comes to bath products, there’s no denying Lush Cosmetics know what they’re doing. Known simply as Jelly Bombs, these cute products are apparently similar to Lush’s existing bath bombs, but instead of adding colouring and softening your bath water, they will turn your bath water into a wibbly-wobbly goodness.
No, seriously. It’s like taking a straight-up slime bath — but, you know, slightly more glamorous than that.

As noted on their website, the jelly bombs contain sodium alginate, which is derived from a seaweed. When dropped into a tub filled with warm water, the sodium alginate is released, turning that bathwater into a jelly-like substance. The result? Your skin will supposedly be left completely smooth, thanks to the jelly bomb’s softening affect.
In the meantime, check out the videos below of the jelly bombs in action — you can almost imagine what it feels like to sink your body into the gooey substance just from watching.

Of course, the range would not be complete without Harry Potter’s magical touch. At first glance, Dark Arts — inspired by HP’s franchise — appears a dark slate shade, but once it’s dunked in water, a mysterious pink “love potion” spews out, causing the water to turn into a sparkling, stardust-like concoction.
Lush Cosmetics explains, “When the muggles are getting you down and it feels like the dementors are looming, dabble in the dark arts with spicy cinnamon leaf oil and almond essential oil. Slytherin-to a hot bath and cast this spicy bomb into the water. Tendrils of black give way to love potion pink as thick, skin softening jelly spreads on the surface of the water. Soak in your personal invisibility cloak and revel in your moment of peace.”
As of now, the new range consists of Green Coconut (a green-and-white bomb with a tropical scent), The Big Sleep (turquoise in color with hints of lavender), Marmalade (a yellow-and-orange bomb that smells like citrus) as well as Dark Arts (a grey-coloured bomb with a cinnamon flavour).
Unfortunately, it seems as though the jelly bombs are only being promoted on Lush’s U.K. website right now, so you might need opt for other methods to get those jelly babies here in Malaysia!
