IRL, we dread patting grease off our faces and reapplying makeup, but it seems like the despised melted-face look is the hottest trend this season. Talented YouTubers are melting their faces in horrific fashion this Halloween and yeap, we know it looks ridiculously complicated, but it’s actually easy to recreate.
The super gross-looking drippy liquid can actually be DIY-ed with equal parts glycerol, water and gelatin, although several makeup artists have resorted to purchasing store bought 3D gel that somewhat hardens and stays intact. The best part about this makeup? No two looks will be the same.
Check out some drippy melted masterpieces below:
Desi Perkins’ creepy creation features an exposed skull on one half of her face and the other, a glam, melty side. She emphasises in her video that the shadows and little details are what makes the look even more life-like.
The contact lens Shannon Harris put in one of her eyes definitely added to the dramatic impact of this look, but the exposed muscles do look legit.

Probably the simplest of the bunch, this melted Barbie makeup look redefines the significance, and consequences, of being plastic.
If looking flawless ain’t your thing, go for extreme gore as demonstrated with this spooky step-by-step tutorial, complete with fake teeth and blood.
Green is the colour of evil and it goes hand in hand with a wicked witch look. Mykie first paints herself green with water-activated paint and then douses her face with a gelatin concoction.
Have a safe and happy Halloween! 😉
