What we love about Channing Tatum is that he can take on any role and absolutely kill it. Looks like he is raising his own bar now in the Disney’s upcoming remake of Splash, where he’ll be taking on the role of a mermaid, or rather, merman. Say whaaaat?!
In the original 1984 version of Splash, the movie starred Daryl Hannah as the mermaid and Tom Hanks as the man who falls in love with her. In this remake, we will see a gender-swapped approach, with Channing Tatum playing the merman and Jillian Bell taking on the role of Tom Hanks. Jillian Bell appeared alongside Channing Tatum in 22 Jumpstreet.
Ron Howard, who directed the original Splash, will be producing its remake, so safe to say the movie is in good hands. And yes, we can’t wait to see Channing in a fish tail, swimming and prancing around in the water!
