It’s always important to make sure you’re up to date with how society works today (realistically) and we’re glad that Lego is on the same page!
Lego has recently introduce a stay-at-home dad figure – a man pushing a baby stroller while holding a baby bottle to give an insight of today’s family dynamics.
Alongside the father and child on the baby stroller is a working mother figure as a part of their new Lego City collection.
“We need to stay in tune with the world around us,” said President of Lego Systems, Soren Torp Laursen creating awareness that since 1989, the number of stay-at-home dads nearly doubled, according to Pew Research. By 2012, nearly 2 million fathers reportedly stayed at home with their kids.
Lego Systems had also introduce a minifigure of a young man in a wheelchair as part of the same collection.
We’re so glad to hear that the full line will go on sale this June.
