To celebrate their 10 year partnership with Melissa, furniture designers Humberto and Fernando Campana have united fashion and design in an exhibition at Galeria Melissa on the 15th of October 2015.
Barroca ‘The Harmony of Imperfection’ pulls together the fundamental phases of the Campana brothers Baroque works to showcase at the exhibition. The exhibition is a wide space with wallpaper featuring the Campana Brother’s signature ‘mesh’ cover floors, walls and ceilings to create texture. The designs reference bronze and iron works through florals, angels and wings along with elements of scissors, screws, insects, birds and lizards.
a Pamphili lamp hangs from the ceiling of the foyer creating a dreamlike world. There also are LED screens featuring moving elements of inspiration from the Melissa Campana Barroca shoe collection.
The new Barroca collection takes inspiration from Campana’s innovative work and unexpected combinations of materials. The work pays attention to traditional Brazilian characteristics like colour, eclectic mixes and so on.
The Barroca collection will be available to shop in Malaysia for Spring/Summer 2016 and the exhibition will be open to the public from now till the 15th of February 2016. (Monday – Saturday: 10am to 8pm, Thursday 10am – 9pm and Sunday 12pm to 6pm) at the Galeria Melissa in Covent Garden, London.
