Inspired by Eternal Love and one of the most iconic couples, Repetto has borrowed two quintessential tableaux for its Autumn/Winter 2015 collection. Not only is the ultimate romance of Romeo and Juliette embodied in the collection, the dance and Prokofiev’s eponymous ballet is also emblematised. From the world of Shakespeare, Repetto brings out a collection bursting with emotion and rich in inspiration.
The ball, the first encounter for the iconic couple, showcased a gracious and fresh pas de deux expressed in five colours, red, pink and yellow, just like a blossoming love, but acknowledging the difficulties that lie ahead with midnight blue and black, and blue.
The balcony scene is when feelings were expressed in the purest and most delicate way. Beneath the balcony await Romeo, hoping and imploring. When Juliette appears, the lightness of her silhouette is matched only by the intensity of their emotions. The colour spectrum slips from brown and grey to pink and Repetto pink, the colour of the main piece, Juliette’s dress.
