The World’s Biggest Cruise Ship Boasts Robot Servers, Flight Lessons, 10-Story Water Slide & More

Earlier this week, Royal Caribbean International announced further details for their grandest vessel yet, dubbed Symphony of the Seas, which is set to be the world’s largest luxury liner that weighs in at 230,000 tons, with 1,188 feet long and has 18 decks — making it about the height of the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

If you combined a massive theme park with a cruise ship bigger than Titanic, this would be it.

The cruise liner will carry 5,500 guests at double occupancy across over 2,759 staterooms — including a two-level family suite — but guests, both adults and children, will not have to worry about congested amenities and entertainment because the ship is really, really HUGE.

Symphony of the Seas boasts seven distinct “neighbourhoods,” with such names as Central Park, Boardwalk, Royal Promenade, and an entertainment centre called Entertainment Place.

The boat will also feature 18 restaurants, a spa, youth zone, and a 10-story water slide in the pool area.

While the boat is unquestionably sophisticated, the cruise is totally kid friendly. From a LEGO wall to a water park to laser tag, Symphony is aiming to offer fun for the whole family.

When night-time hits, adults can also visit the on-board night club, casino, and expansive retail shopping. In addition, frequent Royal Caribbean travelers can expect to find signature Oasis amenities on board, like rock climbing, ice skating, and a Bionic Bar, complete with robot bartenders.

Symphony of the Seas will become Royal Carribean’s 25th ship in the fleet, and her first pre-inaugural sailing will commence on April 2018.

Cruises will start leaving out of Barcelona in April for weeklong Mediterranean itineraries that hit Mallorca, Provence, Rome, and Naples. On November 28, it’ll leave on its first journey out of Miami, touring the Western Caribbean. If any of this sounds appetising, you can get info on bookings here.
