Movies have become the ‘guide’ to everything we do in our lives – from our daily habits to how we control our love lives. Often, we tend to compare our personal lives to what happens in the movies. But you have to bare in mind, a movie is a 2 hour summary of what really happens in a persons full life. So can it really be compared?
What have movies been teaching us about movies? From airport chases to happily ever afters… how does it really work?
1. You will always be chased at the airport
In about 5 out of 10 love stories, there will be someone who ends up leaving the country and there will always be that scene when someone else chaces the person. But can it really happen? In some cases, these TV character purchase plane tickets on the spot to chance the person who has flown across the across the world. Is that really the most realistic thing to have happen? Who knows, maybe it does. But, at the end of the day – reality and movies, are two completely different things.
2. Men will be waiting outside your window
Remember that movie John Cusack played called ‘Say Anything” where he stood outside the girls room, holding up that jukebox? There has been several movies after that where the men always wait outside the windows, throwing pebbles hoping to get the right attention. Is that really going to happen? Has it happened to you? We want to know!
3. You live happily ever after
In all movies, you never see the part after the ‘happily ever after’ – the realistic fights, the real troubles or the real good times. They always just stop at the climax, which gives you that the entire relationship is a piece of cake. We’re not saying happily ever afters don’t exist. They do but they way the movies perceive it… we’re not sure if that’s absolutely true.
4. There is such thing as love at first sight
Movies like Notting Hill or Serendipity give you the impression that the moment you ‘bump’ into someone, it’s faith and you’re meant to be. Do you think that could ever happen in real life? Spilling orange juice on someone will get them over to your place to ‘clean up’? Is that really true? Love at first sight, it does exists… but to what extent?
