Knowing that Malaysia has strict laws against the possession or distribution of drugs, a daring 33-year-old Iranian man was arrested yesterday for planting as much as eight ganja plants in his condominium at Bandar Sri Permaisuri.
They were planted in two flower pots at the condo unit’s balcony, and the city police chief mentioned that this is the first time they have found live ganja plants during operation.
The police found that the suspect had brought in ganja seeds from Iran that were meant for his own use. He is now detained to facilitate investigation under Section 6B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Since January 1, city police have arrested 7,890 suspects in drug cases, including 1,187 drug pushers.
