Hello foodies! Finally, after a year, Ramadhan is here and the fasting month begins again. For Muslims, they will either have the option to break their fast in restaurants of at home. But the working ones are sometimes too busy working or are too tired to cook after long, hard day of work and what do they do?

They head right over to the Ramadhan Bazaars of course! And don’t even deny that you (non-Muslims) haven’t been looking forward to the delectable, mouth-watering selection of Ramadhan Bazaar food and the likes.

This whole month is definitely the best time to try all sorts of authentic Malay delights and even witness some cooking demonstrations. Ramadhan Bazaars are usually a giant showcase of various delicious fares, with offerings of the best Malay food. So, you ask, where can you find these bazaars?

Here are the top five Ramadhan Bazaars that we highly recommend:

1. Shah Alam Stadium, Section 13, Shah Alam
2. Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad 3 and 4, Taman Tun Dr Ismail
3. Kelana Jaya, Petaling Jaya
4. Jalan Telawi, Bangsar
5. SS18, Subang Jaya

All the above are “must visit”s because they are usually massively packed with stalls selling treats of all sorts and tastes. Some of the famous food offerings are such as the “Popiah Power”, “Nasi Briyani Johor”, “Ayam Percik”, and “Pulut Udang”. From deep fried yummies to delectable desserts, Ramadhan Bazaars are truly an epicurean heaven.

A word of warning though. The queues for all these stalls might be long (so many hungry people!) but you know what they say, patience is a virtue. Truth be told, after your patience has endured this arduous task, the rewards are oh-so-sweet. And if you can’t tell which stall sells what, let your nose guide you by sniffing out all the wonderful aroma wafting from the stalls.

Can you say, “om nom nom nom“?
