In some cases, children can be as wise – if not wiser than – adults and this Italian video journalist proves that.
As part of a social experiment, Luca Lavarone gathered some young boys between the ages of 6 and 11, as well as one girl.
The boys are introduced to the girl and one by one, they were asked to follow a set of commands.
First, they were asked to make a funny face at her and caress her. Each boy obliges without hesitation. Then, Lavarone directs each boy to slap the girl.
Every boy refuses and when asked to explain why, their explanations will move you to tears. The young boys are incredibly mature and have a sense of respect you wouldn’t expect to find in children.
Even these young boys know that violence is never okay.
This video also shows that violence and aggression are not instinctive male traits, suggesting that they’re learned and hence, can be stopped.
