Popular dating app Tinder has finally followed through with its promise to create a more inclusive platform for everyone of all gender identities.
Before, Tinder only allowed users to pick from basic male or female options to define their gender and now, the latest update allows transgender and gender non-conforming users to update their profiles with any term they feel best describes their identity, or select from 35 suggestions.
On top of that, users can now opt to hide or display gender information on their profiles.
Tinder’s diversification of gender identification is such a great step ahead in acceptance for these people in our society, and hopefully, other major dating apps will soon follow suit.
