The Scary Downside To Dry Shampoo No One Mentions

Don’t get us wrong. We are dry shampoo addicts ourselves and honestly, we cannot live without it. Whether it’s used to keep greasiness at bay in between washes or to add a little texture and volume, dry shampoo works wonders.

However, dry shampoo isn’t as harmless as you may think. Benjamin Mohapi, the founder and owner of a popular salon in Hollywood claims that excessive use of dry shampoo can leave the hair looking dusty, and a buildup of the product can lead to blocked pores on the scalp, causing pimples and even cysts.

If you suffer from dandruff, it also isn’t advisable for you to apply dry shampoo as it can aggravate the scalp and boost flaking. The starches on the scalp can also draw dirt and pollution, as well as become a breeding ground for bacteria.

Yikes!
