Get ready to be impressed by these baristas as they are in the running to become the next champion for the 4th Malaysia Barista Championship 2013!
With the support of the Malaysia Barista Committee, Racing Creatures Sdn Bhd and Barista Guild Asia launched the much-anticipated 4th Malaysia Barista Championship 2013 during a press conference at Black Box, Publika last Friday.
The launch also unveiled Café Pit-stop Standees that depicts Melbourne’s coffee culture as well as information regarding MBC 2013. The standees will be placed around selected cafes over entire month of March and they are Artisan Roast Cafe, The Bee, EspressoLab, Coffee Stain, Top Brew Café, Departure Lounge, Red Bean Bag, Coffea Coffee and Coffee Chemistry Signature.
Mr JH Yee attended the launch as well and showcased his professional barista techniques and demonstrated his wonderful latte art. On the other hand, Monin Syrup enticed the guests with lovely colorful cocktails whilst EspressoLab served freshly brewed El Salvador coffee and sweet treats to keep the guest sweetly caffeinated.
The 4th Malaysia Barista Championship will be held on the 23-24rd March 2013 at MAP@Publika, Solaris Dutamas. Over two days, the event provides a platform for industry leaders and coffee-centric vendors to showcase varied array of coffee machinery, beans, brewing methods. Public will be able to witness the competition worthy World Barista Championship standards at Blackbox, Map@PUBLIKA as well.
With the lead of WBC certified Head Judges, Hendri Kurniawan (Indonesia) and Ross Bright (Singapore), MBC 2012 has an extensive panel of international judges from Singapore, Japan, Indonesia and Malaysia. Sixteen baristas from all over the country will compete and display their talent in the art and science of specialty coffee at MBC 2013.

All thanks to Tourism Victoria, the winning barista will get the chance to witness the World Barista Championship 2013 happening in Melbourne. The grand champion can also enjoy 4D/5N in Melbourne plus coffee tour and access to the Melbourne International Coffee Expo in May 2013 as well as 3D/2N coffee farm tour in the Gayo Highlands courtesy of Global Coffee Resources. On behalf of Nuova Simonelli, a Nuova Simonelli Musica V 1Group (Black) coffee machine sponsored by Dankoff Coffee is up for grab as well.
