Laneige Malaysia has once again launched its Waterful Sharing Campaign and this year, the brand has partnered with the Global Peace Foundation (GPF) to offer water relief to 500 orang asli residents living in the remote areas of Kampung Binjai, Pahang and Kampung Ulu Geruntum, Perak.
Both these villages do not have access to clean, treated water and the residents have been consuming untreated water from the river or ponds for drinking, cooking and washing. For this reason, they often suffer from skin problems, other more serious health issues, and sometimes even death.
Through this campaign, Laneige aims to raise RM80,000 through the sale of its Water Bank Limited Edition Water Bottle, which is sold at RM10 with every purchase of any products from the Water Bank series, or RM40 on its own. All proceeds will be channelled towards the fund to facilitate the installation of two water filtration systems; one for each village.
The non-electric water filtration system is developed by a company called RIVIVA and it generates up to 16,000 litres of clean water daily. The system contains microfiltration as well as ultrafiltration membranes that remove impurities without the use of chemicals. On top of that, the filters only need to be changed every five years.
Laneige’s Waterful Sharing Campaign 2016 will be going on from 1st May to 31st July 2016. The Water Bank Limited Edition Water Bottle will be available for purchase from any Laneige counters or boutiques in Malaysia, or from the Laneige Beauty Roadshow in Mid Valley Megamall from 2nd to 8th May 2016.
