Singaporean based networking app, Paktor, is a dream come true for anyone looking to score a date. The app is named after the word ‘Paktor’ which in the Hokkien dialect loosely translates into ‘going on a date’.
Launched in June this year, Paktor shortly clinched the third place on the top free iPhone apps chart for Singapore. Currently, it is ranked the most downloaded networking app in Singapore by AppData.com, with more than 50 million profile ratings and 200,000 matches since its launch, and the number of active users is continuously expanding at an exponential rate. Following its success in Singapore, Paktor has also been recently launched in South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and now, in Malaysia. The app is also set to make its debut soon in other Asian regions such as Japan and India.
The Paktor app was founded by Joseph Phua, who, fresh from a break-up, had difficulties utilizing several online dating websites in the U.S. Joseph, with colleagues and partners, Christopher D’Cruz and Charlene Koh, have made this application into a reality.
Paktor is a user-friendly dating app that begins with a simple, seamless sign-up and profile creation, with just one click. Users won’t have to worry about the entire world knowing about your search for a date as no personal or private information is published and your information is guarded as securely as possible.
Paktor uses a double-blind matching system that only matches and connects you to people who like you back. After a successful match, communication may be initiated. One gets to decide with whom they would like to get to know with an easy swipe of your mobile screen. Maintaining anonymity until a person likes you back thus ensures embarrassment and rejection being avoided!
