Soaking yourself in the bathtub is not only good for your soul, but also for your health, say experts.
In an article in L.A. Times, Dr. Michael R. Irwin ( director of UCLA’s Cousins Center for Psychoneuroimmunology, Semel Institute for Neuroscience and the Mindful Awareness Research Center) said:
“Thirty minutes, or whatever it’s going to be, of relaxation can profoundly affect how you’re going to deal with the rest of your day. […] When you become present in the moment, a profound relaxation occurs. It actually resets your physiology, regulates some stress hormones, helps with concentration and reduces tension.”
Dr. Susanne Bennett also wrote on Huffington Post that baths have healing habits that can improve our health. “When prepared for and taken properly, a bath can reduce real toxic as well as mental and emotional stress,” wrote Dr. Bennett.
