Have you ever been in situation where you wanted to tie your hair up but hair tie was nowhere to be found? Or maybe your hair was in a bad state that day and all you needed was to tie it up, but once again, your hair tie has once again, gone incognito?
To make things simple, we’ve found a few hair tricks from the experts to save you from the trouble! These quick and easy hairstyles will help you create a unique look without the need of a hair tie.
1. The Stewardess Updo
This is most probably the easiest way to tie up your hair into a bun as you only have to know the way of making this updo. First, gather your hair up into a ponytail and hold it with your right hand (or left hand if it’s better for you that way). Use your left hand to twist the ponytail over and over again until it is fully twisted while holding the ponytail. Then, create a bun with the twisted ponytail by wrapping the ponytail and tuck the end beneath the
Now there’s a hair bun, here comes the tricky part – Hold the bun with your left hand and take a section of your hair next to the bun and pull it over the bun while tucking the bun underneath it. Make sure the bun is completely covered by the section of hair. It takes a few tries for first-timers (especially for those who have smoother hair) but once you get the whole point of covering the bun with that section of hair, it’s fairly easy to do. Make proper adjustment while making this updo and make sure it isn’t too tight as it might hurt your scalp. (Source)
2. The Summer Hair Braid
Braids and buns define summer. Start by dividing the hair into three sections with the correct proportion without separating the hair at the bottom. Braid the three sections of hair but without pulling the strands through. At first, you’ll think you’re getting a knotted mess at the end, but it’s actually turning into a braid —except it’s upside down.
To finish it off, simply loop the bottom half through the middle of the braid and pull. It will hold until you choose to take it out—and
it looks just as summery and adorable as any braided style. (Source)
3. The Messy Double Knot
If the two tricks above doesn’t define your kind of style, here goes the ultimate hair trick for the lazy ones. This hair trick was spotted at the runway of Michael Kors S/S 11, where models were seen tying the hair in the messy knot but in the elegant way.
To achieve this look, straight long hair isn’t necessary as the look was supposed to look messy but neat. First spray your hair with sea salt hairspray
and blow dry it to creature texture. Scrunch the hair into handful if there isn’t enough texture. Part your hair into two sections and tie them into knots twice like how you tie your shoelace. Secure with pins and finish with a mist of hairspray. For better result, create a half-wavy half-straight fringe for a more natural look. Voila! A messy double knot as seen on the runway is now on your head!
