A 10 month old baby boy was pronounced dead upon arrival half an hour after his mother ran him over with their family car at about 7:15am yesterday, on the 10th of October. The incident occurred right in front of their house on Jalan Ibrahim, Bukit Besar in Kuala Terengganu. Just like any other day, 35 year old mother Faizah Yusof was reversing her car, a Proton Exora, from the porch so that her husband could have access to another car before heading to work that morning. Unfortunately, little did she know that her youngest son of six, Muhammad Faqih Mohd Fitri had managed to crawl out from the house to the back of the car. She then reversed into him.
District police Chief Assistant Commissioner, Zamri Samsuddin said, “The couple rushed Faqih to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital for treatment, but the baby was pronounced dead due to internal injuries.”
The married couple then lodged a report after the incident at the district police headquarters but they have yet to grant permission to the authorities to perform a post-mortem on Faqih’s body. The cause of death is still uncertain.
