Massages: An Alternative Method for Weightloss

Dieting not your forte? Tired of working yourself crazy in the gym? What if we told you indulging in one of the most relaxing past times could be the extra part you are missing? We’re talking about massages, and coming from a group of women who are constantly looking for excuses to get pampered, it sounds too good to be true!

It has been proved that having certain regular massages can strongly aid weightloss. Once a week for an hour is enough and you can unwind in the meantime too, sounds like a no brainer to me.

There are three particular methods we have come across which has proven to be the most effective. The first is the lymphatic massage. This stimulates the bodily system responsible for the removal of fluids you will have consumed, so it works by cleansing the body. Gentle pressure is applied to the areas where your lymph modes are located which is what makes this possible. This certain massage has also been linked to increasing your metabolic rate which is always a good thing!

The next is the Swedish massage (also known as an abdominal massage). As hinted by the name, this massage consists of applying light pressure over the abdomen, revving up your peristalsis. This ensures you have a fully functioning digestive system to the best of its abilities, allowing you to metabolise necessary nutrients you have consumed. When this process is in full swing with the proper elimination of toxins, you obtain more energy from the foods you eat everyday. Moreover, requiring fewer calories. This will leave you with more energy as your body will be storing less toxins and you will therefore be more likely to fully adhere to a workout regime. Though of course for the full experience you will want to visit a professional, there are some Chinese medicinal methods which encourage a self massage version of this on a smaller scale. You will want to place your hands on your abdomen and move them in a counter-clockwise motion for a few minutes and then reverse the action. Be sure to breathe deeply during this. This is recommended twice a day, not too close to meals!

Aromatherapy massages in our opinion, are the most relaxing so for them to be linked to weight loss too is like a dream come true! This works with the more psychological side of losing weight as it allows you to relax fully and relief stress. Undergoing such massages has been proven to increase relaxation and reduce the desire to binge eat. An increase in relaxation will help you find an improvement in your mood and your sleeping patterns. This should get your energy levels in check as you will be sleeping better and you will no longer feel the need to eat so much because of it.

We personally find methods as such extremely important as it is difficult to do what you want with your weight when your energy levels are stooped and you are under stress. It is small things like this that could really be your final step to getting in that dress you bought 2 sizes too small for inspiration.
