Had a bad day? Wanna treat yourself? Ice cream is always the answer. After all, the best time for ice cream is always – especially with Malaysia’s hot weather!

This month, Pavilion Bukit Jalil is commemorating everything ice cream in honour of Ice Cream Day! So we’re counting down the most drool-worthy icy desserts that are a must-try for all ice cream lovers, from ice cream and waffles to bingsu and fro-yo!

A balanced diet is an ice cream milkshake, in both hands (duhh!)

When you think about ice-cream, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Yes, we’re kicking it off with the classics – with a range of delicious ice creams, sherbets, sorbets, shakes and cakes from the iconic Baskin-Robbins!

With 31 different ice cream flavours to choose from, Baskin-Robbins has become a household name in Malaysia. Strawberry Cheesecake and Jamoca Almond Fudge are two flavours you must try. The Classic Chocolate, Very Berry Strawberry, and Mint Chocolate Chip are all well-liked ice cream milkshakes. With one of these bad boys, you’ll want to cool off without a doubt! Stay tuned for a brand-new Cendol Blast Ice Cream Milkshake that will be released in August in honour of Merdeka Day, which is just around the corner. This drink is a must-try whether you love cendol, ice cream, or both.

Ice Ice Baby

Serving up natural and authentic Taiwanese desserts, Yam Fresh’s shaved ice range is a crowd favourite especially in our hot Malaysian weather. With seven delectable base flavors – Herb Jelly, Soy Bean, Matcha, Coconut, Milk Tea, Chocolate, and Mango – to choose from, you can either indulge in something comforting and nostalgia-inducing like their Cendol Coconut Ice, or try something new like their Pearl Milk Tea.

Getting Fizzy With It

Who says that there is only one way to enjoy ice cream? Jazz it up by pairing it with root beer, or enjoy it atop a waffle!

Relive your favourite childhood memories with A&W – the first fast food restaurant to open in Malaysia (back in 1963!) Enjoy the iconic Root Beer float topped with rich vanilla ice cream and served in a chilled glass mug. Graze on a crispy waffle that has just rolled off the waffle iron and topped with strawberry or chocolate sauce and ice cream. You can even get the all new Choco Dino waffle or sundae to go!

Get The Inside Scoop

Inside Scoop offers a wide selection of handcrafted Malaysian-made artisanal ice cream flavours and waffles. Most popular ice cream flavours include Valrhona Chocolate, Rocher, Red Velvet, or if you’re feeling particularly adventurous… Durian!

Lovers of the D24 and Musang King (available until 31 July) can now enjoy some rich and creamy durian ice cream all year round. This aromatic ice cream will surely satiate your desire for the King of Fruits!

Roll-ney It Up!

Enjoy some Kürtskalács that are crisp, light, and fluffy at Rollney. The Kürtskalács are cylinder-shaped, hollow pastries that are native to Hungary and are the nation’s official dessert. Although you can eat it by itself, we recommend pairing it with either chocolate or vanilla ice cream. It’s too good not to share!

Cool Beans!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice-cream bingsu! *screams in Korean*. An ice cream list simply wouldn’t be complete without Bean Jr.’s Korean dessert of shaved ice. Go wild with Nuts About You or Man-Go-Crazy, or relax with their variety of bingsu flavours including Ice Ice Baby, Mango Tango, and Hey Mickey! No matter your choice, you know it will be soy good!

Go Crazy With llao llao!

Looking for a frozen treat that will awaken your senses? Spanish frozen yoghurt makers llao llao’s fro-yo is the sweet yet tangy treat you need. Try all sorts of toppings, including fresh fruit, Oreo cookie crumble, M&Ms, and swirls of their special sauces for extra flavour.

A variety of premium options are available, like Tillamook’s Chocolate Peanut Butter, Kapiti’s Fig & Manuka Honey, and even a traditional like Blue Bunny’s Sweet Freedom Vanilla.
