Burger fans – you’re in for a big treat, because you’ll soon be able to indulge in New York’s Shake Shack’s culinary delights right here in Malaysia!
The burger giant has partnered up with SPC Group to expand its presence in Southeast Asia. The brand has big plans to open 10 stores in Malaysia from 2023 to 2031. SPC Group has been a leading global food brand, holding a firm base in South Korea, with over 30 brands in their pocket and over 7,000 stores worldwide.
Michael Kark, Chief Global Licensing Officer of Shake Shack, said that the brand continues to “be blown away by the enthusiasm of fans throughout the world”, which gave the brand confidence to expand their market to Southeast Asia.
“This represents our sixth country in Asia, and together with the SPC Group, we expect to have more than 45 Shake Shacks across Korea, Singapore, and Malaysia by 2031.”
“SPC Group and Shake Shack have established a successful long-time partnership, bringing 28 Shacks to Korea and Singapore over the past five years,” says Hee Soo Hur, Vice President of SPC Group Korea, who has worked with Shake Shack since 2016.
“We are eager to deepen the relationship, bringing the brand mission to Stand for Something Good to Malaysia.”
The Shake Shack brand, which is famously known as New York’s modern-day “roadside” burger, confirmed the news of the expansion in a press release uniquely titled, “Apa Khabar, Malaysia?”
What makes Shake Shack’s burgers stand apart from the rest is their mission to “Stand for Something Good”, with premium ingredients, investing in the community, and caring hiring practices.
Shake Shack, which had a humble beginning in 2004 in NYC’s Madison Square Garden, has now expanded to more than 350 locations in 30 US States, and more than 120 international locations.
Their hot-selling burgers are made from 100 percent all-natural Angus beef patties. Their star selections include chicken sandwiches and flat top Vienna beef dogs (no hormones or antibiotics – ever) with crinkle cut fries. Although we will only be able to savour their succulent burgers next year, we can confidently say that it will totally be worth the wait!
