Accessories are the easiest way to brighten up a simple outfit, and a trick that we use when we’re feeling a bit lazy to go through our closet. Bracelts and bangles should be your best friends, ’cause you only need to grab a few and mix and match them to make your outfit pop. Not only is this extremely trendy this season, it’s really fun to experiment with too.
So, we’ll be teaching you how to make a colourful square knot bracelet which would be a great addition to your accessory collection and would brighten up any outfit! Even though it looks very complicated, it’ll be a breeze once you get the hang of it!
Coloured string (1 piece double the length of your wrist with three inches extra and another 20-inch piece), scissors, large beads, a lighter and cellophane tape
Take the shorter string and make a knot with a loop big enough to fit your bead through.
Tape your base strings down on a surface that’s secure so that it’ll be easier for you to work with.
Now, let’s make the square knot. First, put the 20-inch piece under the base strings where the knot is placed. Then, take the end on the left and put it over the base strings.
To complete the knot, take the right end of the string, put it under the base strings and then through the middle of the loop where the first string was placed.
Pull tight to secure the knot and it should now look like this. Since we have started with the left end just now, start the process again with the right end and repeat these steps on alternate sides.
Your square knot bracelet should start coming together!
When the length of your bracelet is able to wrap around your wrist perfectly, tie a knot with both the strings you have worked with to secure your hard work, and then snip off the excess.
Insert both the base strings through a bead, tie a tight knot to secure the bead, then snip off the excess.
You’re done! 😉
Finally, to make sure that the ends of your string will not unravel, use the lighter to lightly torch the loose ends.
Here’s how it looks like paired up with other bracelets! Do give it a go and tell us how yours turned out. Good luck, ladies!
