YAY! It has just been announced that the second Malaysian IKEA store located along Jalan Cochrane, Cheras is set to open its doors at the end of November 2015. At an exclusive Roof Capping event within the store itself, we got a special sneak peek at the IKEA Self Serve warehouse that is right before the checkout area. It’s HUGE and we’re just so very excited!
The 42,000 square-meter store, that is 20% bigger than IKEA Damansara, will offer Swedish home furnishings that are well-designed, functional, affordable and are of optimum quality. IKEA Cheras is located 5-minutes away from the city centre, and it is easily accessible from the MAJU Expressway and SMART highways. In 2017, the Cochrane MRT station will also connect directly to MyTown, the new shopping mall that will be linked to IKEA Cheras.
Ever since breaking out its recruitment news, IKEA has had a wonderful response and has hired over 300 co-workers of various talent and expertise, forming a passionate and committed team for the brand new IKEA store. Of course, the well-loved IKEA food like its meatballs and curry puffs will also be served at IKEA Cheras to complete your wholesome shopping experience every time you visit.
