It’s undeniable – you’re always bound to go hungry at work, and it’s not your fault. Your body’s metabolism rate is usually at its highest when your mind is occupied at work, and when you’re so busy time flies and you realize you’ve missed lunch or your tea break. Keeping a couple of snacks in the office is a great way to curb the hunger pangs when you’re at work. The trick is to get foods that give you a surge of energy while giving you the right amount of nutrients to keep going. Here are some of our recommendations:

Cereal Bars
Cereal bars are the most convenient things in the world. They’re rich in healthy carbohydrates like oats and it’s got the right amount of sugar to fill your stomach up when you’ve got that sting of hunger. And because they’re small, you can just slip one in your bag as you’re on way to a big meeting!

Muesli
A box of muesli in the office is really heaven sent. This delicious clusters of deliciousness are not only good for your stomach, but they’re also rich in fiber, ensuring that you get the right nutrients. Store a box of it under your desk and enjoy it with a cup of luke warm milk, or make a tasty parfait with yogurt and berries.

Dark Chocolate
If you love chocolate, you’ll be happy to know that we’re encouraging you to have a piece of chocolate as a snack. A huge bar of dark chocolate should last you about two weeks, so that’s about two to three cubes a day to rid off the hunger. Dark chocolate does not only boost your energy, but it’s also rich in antioxidants!

Peanut Butter
You’ll be surprised to know that peanut butter is actually one heck of a healthy snack, even without spreading it on a slice of bread. Peanut butter is a low cholesterol food that’s rich in fiber and protein and a spoonful of it eaten just like that is enough to fuel a whole hour without food. Enjoy it as it is, or spread it on sliced apples for a tasty tea-time snack!

Fruit and Nuts Mix
Dried fruits like cranberries and raisins, topped with a couple of nuts are absolutely great for your body. Peanuts are low in calories and munching on them can fill you up in a matter of minutes. Pecans, peanuts and almonds are highly recommended for their high content in protein.

Bananas
We all need some vitamins in our body, and fruits are by far the best choice. Bananas are the perfect choice because they’re rich in potassium and vitamins that not only fill you up, but it’s got all the nutrients to keep your energy moving. If you’re feeling hungry, just have a banana and a cup of green tea to help rid your body of toxins, while it stores in more nutrients.

Yogurt
Yogurt is every woman’s must-have. Not only does it give you calcium, but the live cultures is great for keeping your body healthy with the good bacteria it provides. Let’s not forget that it’s also good for your down there. Have it on its own, with a spoon of honey, fruits and cereal, or just freeze it up so you can have a cup of froyo for lunch! Don’t forget to add in some fruits for fiber!
