British Game of Thrones star Peter Vaughan has died at the age of 93, as confirmed by his agent Sally Long-Innes. He passed peacefully surrounded by family.
Vaughan began acting in the 1950s and some notable TV shows he has played roles in include Grouty, Citizen Smith, Porridge, Chancer and Our Friends in the North.
The characters he played also fixated on special roles such as police officers, authoritarian elders and secret agents.
He had always described himself as a character actor, but being in Game of Thrones brought him a new level of fame at age 86. He was with the fantasy drama TV series for five years.
Until 1966, Vaughan was married to actress Billie Whitelaw. He remained married to Lillias Walker till death. He’s also the father-in-law of Gregor Fisher.
