If you’re a Muslim, you’d already be used to ensuring that every morsel which goes into your mouth daily must, indeed, be certified Halal. For the reason that Malaysia is a melting pot of cultures and scrumptious, heavenly food, it is no surprise that some Muslims are fond of Chinese food.

The challenge would evidently be this – hunting down 100% Halal authentic Chinese restaurants which are able to serve you with the same great taste and flavour with no compromise. After exploring, here are 5 spots we definitely recommend.

Restaurant NJ Zenith

Owned by a Chinese Muslim, Zenith has been operating for over 5 years and has gained popularity among the Muslim community ever since. Initially, the restaurant started off serving a mix of Malay and Chinese food. But when the owner realized that there were so little Chinese restaurants catering to Muslims in Malaysia, she switched out the menu to serve only authentic Chinese food. The intense growth of the restaurant goes to show that that decision was by far, the best one made.

Do try their Ying Yang Fish, Salted Egg Prawns and Fu Yong Egg.

Bandar Baru Bangi Branch
No 48, Jalan Medan Pusat 2C,
Pusat Bandar Baru Bangi, Seksyen 9,
43650 Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor.

Tel: 03-89256889
Mobile: 012-9206983
Business Hours: 11.30am – 10.30pm daily

Mohammad Chow Chinese Muslim Kitchen

If you’re living in Petaling Jaya, you’re in luck because this new restaurant has just opened its doors in July this year. Not only is the place super cozy and comfortable, their Chinese food is said to be top notch. When dining here, don’t forget to leave some tummy space for their desserts as well. If you need to, the restaurant also has a special area for prayers. Super convenient, if you ask me!

They serve one of the best durian puffs, yum!

Damansara Perdana Branch
3-1, Jalan PJU 8/5H,
Damansara Perdana Business Center,
Damansara Perdana,
47820, Petaling Jaya,
Selangor.

Tel: 03-4162 1877
Business Hours: 11am – 11pm daily

Hj Sharin Low Seafood Restaurant

Since its opening in 2009, this restaurant now has 3 branches scattered across Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. Serving you the freshest catch of fish and perfectly-seasoned dishes, this place offers a wide variety of Chinese food at a very reasonable price. Do note that it is safer to make reservations prior to your visit as there are limited tables available at the Bukit Antarabangsa branch, if not, just visit their other branches!

Their Salted Egg Veggie and Roast Duck is a must try.

Bukit Antarabangsa Branch

No 1 & 3, Lorong Wangsa 5A,
Taman Bukit Jaya,
Bukit Antarabangsa, Ampang,
68000, Selangor.

Gombak Branch

No. 33, Jalan SG 3/10,
Taman Sri Gombak,
68100, Batu Caves,
Selangor.

 Klang Branch

Lot. G-13, Harbour Place,
Lot 6683, Persiaran Raja Muda Musa,
41200 Klang,
Selangor.

Tel: +603-4106 6678, +6012-685 4101, +6012-373 1999
Opening Hours: Mon – Thu: 11am – 11pm, Fri: 4pm – 11pm, Sat – Sun: 11am – 11pm

Homst Chinese Muslim Restaurant

Homst is yet another excellent restaurant in the heart of Taman Tun Dr. Ismail (TTDI), Kuala Lumpur. One of the more established places, Homst has been offering its customers lip-smacking food since 2002 and now has 4 branches in total. We heard that the Butter Chicken and Deep Fried Squid is out of this world!

TTDI Branch

No: 48, Persiaran Zaaba,
Taman Tun Dr Ismail,
60000, Kuala Lumpur.

Business Hours : 11am – 10:30pm daily

Selangor.

Business Hours: 11am – 11pm daily

Pak Ya Chinese Muslim Foods Corner

Aside from all the regular Chinese dishes, this place is also popular because they serve pau and dim sum from 3pm – 5pm daily for tea break. If you are a fan of dim sum, you’d know how difficult it is to find Halal ones, so this is definitely a plus! As for their dishes, do give the Marmite Chicken and Butter Prawns a go!

Ampang Branch

Jalan Sulaiman 3,
Taman Dagang Ampang,
Ampang, 68000,
Selangor.

Tel: 012-2248660
Business Hours: 11am – 11pm daily, tea breaks from 3pm-5pm (Only drinks, pau and dim sum available during tea breaks)
