Halloween is on the way and if you’re planning to have some friends over, it’s only customary that you decorate your home to pay respects to the spirits and monsters of the underworld! So, without further ado, here’s a few simple and inexpensive Halloween Decorations that should certainly get the hair on your necks standing!
Paper Bats
A cringe-worthy delight, paper bats are easy, fast and recyclable, too! Simple gather your old magazines then use a bat clip-art or stencil to draw the shape and cut them out. You can make countless of these little creatures! Spray-paint them with black paint, and decorate them as you please with glitter or draw eyes on them with a red marker. You can stick them on your doors, gather them up on a piece of string and hang them around the creepy corners of your lair!
Witch’s Potions
If you have a couple of old glass bottles lying around, why not store your potion in there. No, we don’t mean your vodka, but decorate them to look like bottles of potions belonging to witches! Get a can of matte spray paint in black, and just spray over the entire bottle. If you want to put some labels on them, give it a vignetted effect by painting a layer of coffee over white paper, leave it to dry and then use a marker and label them with names like “Levitation” or “Banshee’s Tears”.
Glamor Pumpkin
So you bought a few pumpkins as decoration but don’t have the strength to carve them. If you’re not planning on going crazy with decorations you can spice up your give you pumpkin some bling with the help of some glitter and Epsom salt! Get craft glue or Mod Podge and spread it all around your pumpkin. In a bowl, mix the Epsom salt and glitter, then sprinkle them over your pumpkin. There you have it! A fabulous coat of bling on your pumpkin!
Haunted Home
Movies of old haunted houses tend tend to have one thing in common – ghostly furniture. A tasteful decor with minimal effort, simply get lots of white fabric (old or new) and just place them over your furniture like your sofa, coffee table, etc. If you want to get a little creative, splatter some red watercolor paint on the fabric so it looks like someone was murdered! Easy, right? You can also increase the spook-factor with some black or red candles on candelabras.
Creepy Silhouttes
Using black paper, simply use a pencil to draw out silhouettes of disturbing situations like someone holding a knife, the Grim Reaper of even the Slenderman himself! It makes walking into your house utterly scary and your guests might probably be startled by the figures outside you house.
