Some people believe in luck, some people believe in fate, and some people believe in the ancient art and science developed thousands of years ago in China. Also known as Feng Shui, the practice of balancing the energies of any given space to assure the health and good fortune for people inhabiting it.

Feng Shui means “wind and water”. And in the Chinese culture, wind and water are associated with good health. With such, the term “good Feng Shui” would mean good fortune and “bad Feng Shui” usually means misfortune. And the simplest and most basic of all Feng Shui consultation starts with the study of Chinese astrology.

If you’re a believer, here’s the annual outlook for 2012, the Year of the Dragon, by none other than Chinese Astrology expert Joey Yap:

Dragon (1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012) – It’s your year, but you better tone things down a bit by taking a focused approach on all major aspects of your life.

Snake (1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001) – Be alert for wealth opportunities you can capitalize on if you act quickly. Romance is definitely sizzling for singles.

Horse (1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002) – Focus on self-improvement this year so that you’ll be ready to seize future opportunities when it comes.

Goat (1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003) – Good fortune will come to you this year and expect to find many opportunities for wealth cropping up.

Monkey (1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004) – Be productive in achieving your goals. Remember to be mindful of others and don’t take things for granted.

Rooster (1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005) – You’re lucky. Any obstructions you come across this year can be resolved with the right effort and assistance.

Dog (1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006) – A tough year ahead, but do your best to avoid being distracted from your objectives. Stay positive.

Pig (1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007) – Expect good fortune in career if you approach it with the right strategy. Romance will blossom this year.

Rat (1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008) – Be bold and take the lead to bring your career to the next level this year. Love-wise, this is an ideal year to make your move.

Ox (1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009) – You may bump into a few roadblocks, but worry not, as there will be people to lend you a hand to overcome it.

Tiger (1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010) – Consider your future and the action needed to pursue your goals. It is an ideal year to expand your horizons.

Rabbit (1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011) – Be patient in getting what you want in life. Expect opportunities to generate extra income this year.

Well, surely this is something to keep us on our toes now, isn’t it? We hope this sheds as much light on the coming Lunar New Year for our readers as it has for us!
