Finally, the Australian Joint Agency Coordination Centre (JACC) has confirmed that the flaperon found on Reunion Island is indeed from Malaysian Airlines (MAS) flight MH370.
JACC mentioned in a statement: “Subsequent examination has indicated that in all probability, the wreckage, a wing part known as a flaperon, was from MH370.”
The piece of aeroplane wing, which was discovered on the Reunion Island coast on July 29, was sent to France for further analysis. On August 6, Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak also confirmed that part of the flaperon found was part of the missing aircraft.
Flight MH370 disappeared on March 8 2014 en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 passengers on board.
