So, here is an interesting way to keep a dude – pretend to be deaf.
That’s exactly what this Alaskan waitress did. She faked being deaf for nine months, just so she can keep her boyfriend. Tina, who is also a subject on a new TV show called My Crazy Love on channel Oxygen, said that she really had to go the extra mile to keep the finest looking guy she had ever met in Kodiak, which is the town she lives in.
On the show, Tina said: “I was frozen. I don’t know why… but I look at the guy and say, ‘I’m deaf.’ He just looks down at me, grabs my shoulder and yells ‘My name is Chris.’”
The two were able to communicate thanks to texting and gesticulation because Tina doesn’t actually know sign language as she is not actually deaf. She did mention that pretending to be deaf is a lot harder than you may think, “If a door slams, you’ve got to not look. If a dog barks, you have to be really careful not to look or anything. Cross the street and you have to pretend you can’t hear the horn honking at you.”
The only good thing about it was that her deaf alter-ego didn’t really have to pipe down in the bedroom.
