Quick Easy-To-Do Snacks

Are you someone that has an overwhelming urge to snack even after a heavy meal? It’s not that you’re greedy or anything, snacking could just be a way to keep yourself alert and a reason to treat yourself after a hard’s day of work. Don’t worry, we get it, we are all for snacking! So, instead of heading to the convenient store for junk food, we have listed down a variety of easy-to-do recipes you can do at home!

Crackers With Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread and Banana

Ingredients:-

  • Crisp bread crackers
  • Chocolate-hazelnut spread
  •  Banana

Method:- 

  • Dividing evenly, spread 2 crisp bread crackers with 1 tablespoon chocolate-hazelnut spread
  • Top with 1 sliced small banana

Tropical Yoghurt Parfait

Ingredients:-

  • Low-fat Greek yoghurt
  • Kiwi
  • Mango
  • Roasted cashews

Method:-

  • Top ½ cup plain low-fat Greek yoghurt with 1 cut-up kiwi and ¼ cup cut-up mango
  • Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon chopped unsalted roasted cashews

Cheapy Cheese Steak

Ingredients:-

  • Two slices of bread of your choosing
  • 2-4 (depending on the size) slices of deli roast beef
  • 2 squares sliced cheese, mozzarella or swiss
  • 2 large white mushrooms
  • Sweet onion
  • Cesar dressing
  • Margarine or butter
  • Salt and pepper

Method:-

  • Slice your onion in half, and then slice one half again to get a quarter. Cut slices across the “rings” to get nice strips.
  • Heat butter in a non-stick pan on medium-low
  • Once it’s hot, throw the onions in the pan.
  • Slice the mushrooms and add them once the onions are a bit soft
  • Chop or slice the roast beef into bite-sized pieces or smaller. Add them to the pan. Season with salt and pepper
  • Continue cover + simmer, stir, cover + simmer, stir until the mushrooms are soft as well as the onions, and the beef warmed.
  • Make a grilled cheese with the bread, butter and cheese
  • Once it’s made, separate the grilled cheese.
  • Mix about half a tablespoon (maybe a little more) of the dressing in with the onions, mushrooms and beef.
  • Scoop all the mixture onto one half of the grilled cheese, close it, and enjoy!

Egg Spinach Baked Muffins

Ingredients:-

  • 1 onion, diced
  • 50g grated cheddar
  • 1/2 bag of spinach, finely chopped
  • 3 lg eggs
  • 1 tomato finely chopped
  • 15ml milk

Method:-

  • Preheat the oven to 175c
  • Cook the onion in a little oil for 5 mins until soft, then take off the heat and stir in the spinach and tomatoes
  • In a jug, beat the eggs with the cheddar and milk then chuck in all the other ingredients and combine
  • Pour into a muffin tin and fill 1/2 way full and cook for 15-20 mins

Easy Mac & Cheese

Ingredients:-

  • 1/2 pound (500g) cooked pasta of choice
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

Method:-

  • Place pasta, cheese, milk and salt into a microwave safe bowl and stir to mix
  • Lightly cover the bowl with plastic wrap and microwave for 3 minutes
  • Stir pasta and then microwave for an additional 2 minutes
  • Stir until creamy and smooth

Chocolate Mug Brownie

Ingredients:-

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 dash salt
  • 4 tablespoons granulated/caster sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 4 tablespoons plain/all purpose flour
  • vanilla ice cream

Method:-

  • In a mug melt the butter in the microwave then add the water, vanilla and salt. Whisk well with fork.
  • Add cocoa powder, whisk well. Add sugar, whisk well. Add flour, whisk well.
  • Microwave for 60 to 90 seconds. Depending on how gooey you want it. Careful not to overcook.
  • Top it off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream
