Seems like the USA has picked up after the Land of the Rising Sun and now, similar to Tokyo, you can pay for snuggle sessions in California!
A new business called Cuddle Connection is selling cuddles, which the owner claims are good for your health. You just have to be open to cuddling with a complete stranger, and be willing to pay for such services.
The owner, Kelly Peterson, is offering relaxation and comfort at the rate of US$29 for half an hour, or US$49 for an hour.
So, what exactly do you get? At Cuddle Connection, clients are snuggled by Kelly or one of her female staff members in a loveseat or swanky beanbag chair. If you’re in the mood for pillow talk, that’s allowed too.
However, clients must come fully clothed and clean, as all the rooms are monitored for safety. This means no hanky-panky!
There’s definitely a demand for places like this, and spooning actually has its health benefits. A good snuggle session boosts levels of oxytocin, the love hormone that can increase intimacy and trust, relieve stress, and even lower blood pressure.
The question is – could you really zone out and fully relax while lying in the arms of a total stranger?
