Reebok Classic‘s latest SS14 range delivers the iconic and much loved silhouettes that are characteristics of Reebok Classic since the ’80s, along with stylized updates which keep Classic at the forefront of fashion and style.
Reebok has a core belief that the collective energy of community is incredibly powerful. Reebok Classic is a fashion brand with real heritage in fitness, and is focused on sparking the movement and coming together of passionate people who embrace originality and take risks.
With over a century of brand heritage, in 2014, Reebok will be celebrating some of its iconic silhouettes. It will be the 30th anniversary of the “Reebok Princess” collection, 25th anniversary for the most iconic technology, “The Pump”, and also the 20th anniversary of the “Pump Fury” collection.
2014 also sees Reebok Classic re-introduce some of its most iconic silhouettes with authentic bring-back colorways (the “OGs”) as well as brand new materials, fabrications and executions.
Reebok Classic Party
To celebrate and to welcome 2014, Reebok organized a “Classic Party” on the 27th December, 2013, at Black Box, Publika. The main highlight of the party was Reebok’s special collaboration with XU & Joe Chia.
XU, a Reebok ambassador, is the founder of the “LapSap”, Twilight Action Girl and “Mini Compo” Group. He is also well known in the music industry, even among the likes of Verbal of Teriyaki Boys and famous music producer and Grammy Award Winner, Swizz Beatz.
Joe Chia is a fashion designer without boundaries, which has led him to international recognition. Adding to his list of achievements, Joe has collaborated with Shu Emura, G-Shock and Uniqlo. He was also named as “ A pioneer of avant garde fashion scene in Malaysia” by Esquire Malaysia. His latest achievement was marked on the day of the party as one of the ambassadors for Reebok.
The two have come together in piecing and designing a retro all black Reebok Classic Jacket with their signature embroidery patch at the back. This limited edition jacket will set the motion and kick start the Classic push by Reebok for 2014.
Insta Pump Fury
2014 sees the 20th anniversary of one of Reebok Classic’s most iconic and recognizable shoes – the legendary Insta Pump Fury. A true cult Classic with a futuristic twist and bespoke technology, Reebok will celebrate with the re-release of the original red, yellow and black colorway, the Insta Pump Fury OG. As part of the Insta Pump Fury celebrations, 27 global product collaborations have been created through the Reebok Classic Certified Network.
In Malaysia, Reebok has collaborated with its Certified Network partner, Crossover, a sneaker concept store established in 2005, to design and produce a special ReebokXCrossover Pump Fury to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this icon. This shoe would be available exclusively at Crossover outlets in Malaysia from March 2014.
Women
The SS14 Reebok Classic collection features updates on the key franchise models from the ‘80s, giving a nod to Reebok Classic’s rich heritage while providing new and on-trend updates. The SS14 focus silhouettes for Women include the Princess which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.
Men – Pump Heritage
The Pump heritage story features the Pump Omni Zone Tribute Pack which pays homage to some of the greatest players that wore this shoe in some of the most iconic basketball cities in the USA. Colorways reference some of basketball’s most loved players and some of the game’s most recognizable heritage colors.
Men – Retro Basketball
The Retro Basketball range takes inspiration from Reebok’s 90’s heritage and features iconic basketball models that fuse unique style with functional performance. Key silhouettes include the Pump Omni Lite, The Pump Revenge, the Kamikaze I Mid and the Big Hurt. The Kamikaze I Mid and the Big Hurt would be available exclusively in Malaysia with Hoops in Lot 10, The Summit, and Times Square (Penang). The Pump Omni Lite would be available with Hoops and Crossover in Malaysia.
