A 23-year old female was stabbed to death after quarrelling with her childhood sweetheart of 10 years in Taman Limbongan Permai at Tengkera, Malacca. The couple were intending to get married by next year.
The victim, identified as Goh Meng Yee, worked in a cybercafé and has been staying in her boyfriend’s family house since the year 2011. She was found lifeless in his room and it is believed that the couple was involved in a heated argument before the tragic incident occurred.
Her boyfriend also attempted to take his own life by stabbing himself three times in the abdomen with the same knife that was used to kill the victim. He was then rushed to the Malacca Hospital and is now being treated in the intensive care unit.
The Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Salehhudin Abd Rahman said, “We are still probing the motive and the case is being investigated under Section 302 and Penal Code.”
It is learnt that their relationship had turned sour recently after the victim’s boyfriend told his mother last Saturday that he could no longer live and preferred to die.
According to the man’s 19-year old brother, Edward, the couple was in a heated argument between 9:00p.m. and 10:00p.m. on Sunday. “We only realised that their argument ended in death when my mother returned home after getting a distress call from my brother,” he added.
