For most part of our childhood, we dreamed of growing up as part of the society with the perfect job. However, as we grow older, every thing seems to changed and growing up isn’t as fun as it seems anymore. Over time, you started to realize that you’re no longer living in a fairy tale world and you had to accept the reality to live in this world. Some people realized the truth much earlier than us, including kids who would speak of something that only adults can understand. Even for some grown-up, they’re still figuring out what they want in their life. There are a lot of things that can show that you have finally grown to become a people with mature rational mind. Do you think you’re mature among all the other friends? Here are 7 signs to identify that you’re much more mature than your friends (read: not old, just mature)!

1. Punctual

No matter how tired you are, you would get up from your bed and prepare yourself to work. Your sleeping habits changed as you would sleep before 12 and When you recognize that you wake up at 5 a.m. more often than you go to bed at five in the morning, that lets you know things are changing. Early rising is a result of some type of responsibility, which is admirable — and a good indicator that you’re maturing.

2. Independent

As you grow older, you should no longer depends on your parents and start to grow independently by doing every thing on your own. Although you still can ask help from your parents, but for an emotionally mature person, you would know the last thing you want to do is to increase the burden for your parents.

3. Accept the past

Part of growing up is to accept the past and move on with your life. There’s no use crying over spilled milk and dwelling on the past. Thus, an emotionally mature people would put behind their past and start all over again or constantly improve themselves to become a better person.

4. Taking the blame

Instead of pushing the blame around, mature people take responsibility for what they’ve done wrong or when failure happens. They know pushing the blame wouldn’t solve the problem so they decided to solve the problem before it snowballed to a bigger problem that comes with a great consequences of their actions.

5. Be practical

You rarely do things that will not result you in anything and you know it’s time to practical instead of dreaming to the luck will fall on you. Emotionally mature people are practical towards the thing they do and they know how to avoid being realistic in the the things they do.

6. Things that can make you happy are getting lesser

There used to be a lot of things that seemed so amazing and unique to us when we were young and that just makes us feel happy whenever we see them. But they no longer appealed to be something special to emotional mature people and the things that make them happy are getting lesser. They stuck on one particular thing, which is the only thing that makes them happy.

7. Emotion managing

For emotional mature people, they would keep their emotional problems to themselves instead of letting everyone know. Emotion is unstable thing and you wouldn’t know when and how you’re going to break down. However, you know that it’s simply nothing to be proud of for being emotional 24/7. However, it is okay to cry out loud once in a while, especially when you’re undergoing a major stress.
