Has your sex life been a bit meh recently? When was the last time you felt the intense urge to rip off someone’s clothes and get down and dirty with them? Most of us would go through that phase where we’re just never in the mood for any sexy time. Whether it’s due to work stress, relationship issues, or even your mental health, sex is great, and YOU should be able to enjoy it as much as you can! So if you’re dealing with some low sex drive issues, here are a couple of ways you can try to increase your libido!

Get More Sleep

For many of us with a busy lifestyle, we don’t always have time to wind down and get some much needed sleep, let alone time to go to pound town! According to experts, sleep deprivation can actually cause erectile dysfunction, since sleep ensures that the dopamine receptors are healthy, which is important for your sex drive. So make sure you catch your Z’s so you can get back your big O’s!

Exercise

We all know about the benefits you can get from exercising, but did you know that it can also increase your libido? Asides from keeping your body healthy, it can also help with your body image, which is also one of the factors that can cause low sex drive. Your libido is largely related to your mood, and studies have shown a link between physical activity and mood. Make sure to get your steps in, so you’ll be in a good mood for some good lovin!

Use Lube

Getting in the mood can almost be impossible if sex is painful for you – especially for people who are just starting out. One of the leading causes of this is vaginal dryness. So, if you’re experiencing pain during sex, try using a silicone-based lubricant (which are more moisturizing and can last longer than water-based lubricants) or a vaginal moisturizer.

Practice Body Neutrality

As mentioned above, body image is linked to your sex drive. Body neutrality refers to the idea of accepting your body as it is and being thankful for the functions it can carry out without trying to love it when that feels impossible. This entails looking after your mental health, such as reducing stress, which can innately enhance your sex drive.

Limit Alcohol Consumption

It’s no surprise that alcohol can have a negative impact on your sex drive. While it may feel good at the moment, alcohol actually acts as a depressant, so the initial boost in your desire for sex is just temporary. Like other recreational drugs, it only makes you feel good for a moment. Remember people, more is not always better!

More and more studies have revealed that specific vitamins and nutrients—found in foods like avocados, almonds, strawberries, and oysters—can improve sexual function and desire.
