Hijababes – we have a lot of shawls, and don’t you dare deny it! Some of you might have more shawls than underwear – to which, I say, priorities clearly go out the window when shopping (I’m guilty of this too).
But, do we really need a lot of shawls? Granted, different coloured and patterned shawls are important, because, you know, you gotta match the whole ensemble. However, when it comes to types of shawl of fabric – we only need four, girlies.
Chiffon
A simple, yet classic, shawl that everyone should have in their closet. It drapes beautifully on your shoulders and sometimes, you don’t even need to iron it. This type of shawl literally will never disappoint you and your hijab will stay on flawlessly the whole day.
Cotton
Another timeless shawl that will never go wrong or need ironing. Cotton shawls are incredibly easy to don and you wouldn’t even need to fuss with it, having to pin it to your clothes. Available in different textures and patterns, cotton shawls should be a staple in hijabis’ closets.
Satin
Looking luxurious is what we all desire – and wearing a satin shawl will make you look opulent. The silky smooth fabric will frame your face beautifully, and the draping effect will make it seem like the shawl was put on effortlessly.
Jersey
This basic hijab wear is the perfect go-to for when you just want to go for an errand run or wish to put on a super casual for your OOTD (Outfit Of The Day). Literally, the simplest of them all and you don’t really need to add any effort in styling or pinning it. The jersey fabric will stay on your shoulders and won’t move throughout the day, making it the most fuss-free hijab to have in your closet.
