Holey Artisan Bakery cafe in Dhaka, Bangladesh, was attacked last Friday by seven Islamic State militants. After a 12 hour stand-off with police, 22 people were left dead including, including 2 police officers.
One of the seven attackers is believed to have been a student in Monash University Malaysia. However, there has been no official confirmation from authorities about the identity of the attacker, only speculations on social media. Representatives from the university will meet with authorities today and discuss these allegations.
Six out of seven of the attackers have been shot dead by the police forces during the siege at the Holey Artisan Bakery cafe.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar has confirmed that the two people seen in photos of the Dhaka attack were indeed students at the Monash University, Malaysia. However, it remains unclear if they are victims or the perpetrators of the attack.
“I’m saying two of them had studied here — that I confirm. But I’m not saying whether they are attackers or not,” he was quoted as saying.
