Chinese girls are back at it again with another social media fad! It’s very different from the time they were taking selfies with their armpit hair, and it’s dangerous, in the sense that it promotes unhealthy body ideals.

They are now comparing their waist sizes to the width of a sheet of A4 paper, which only measures at 21cm. A whole lot of them have posted photos on social media to share their snaps and show the world how small their waists are.

Netizens in China claim that it is a healthy and attainable aim to have a diet-toned midriff, and this had driven them to also share photos of size 0 Chinese models with A4 waists, together with tips to lose weight.

One Weibo user even boasted: “I’m a size smaller than A4. I’m A5.”

Recently, a series of worrying health and beauty fads have come out of China, including taking selfies with a pen under their breasts, and bending their arm around their bodies to touch their belly button.

Oh, my.. We don’t know what else they’d come up with next, but girls, please learn to love your bodies and know that this is utterly ridiculous.
